Carissa Diaz is a multi-passionate artist who takes inspiration from daily life to create dynamic abstract paintings. You may find her stopped on the street photographing vibrant neon signs of city storefronts, apartment windows that glow orange at dusk, or stuck in a memory of the softness of the California landscape.

Diaz engages in a material loop of layered patterns and textures creating depth, dimension, and vibrant energy through each painting’s planar landscape. Her art practice was conceived as a form of self care in hopes of transferring the restorative positivity to the viewer through mindful attention to the physiological impact of color and shape on mood and feeling.

Carissa Diaz was born in California and received her BFA from San Francisco State University. Diaz has tailored her professional career to support art spaces that collaborate and foster fine artists, including Bay Area visual arts non-profit Root Division.

In addition to her painting practice, Carissa currently takes on a small handful of clients for various photography services. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
